Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are your instructors Adobe Certified Instructors?

A: Yes, our instructors are Adobe Certified Instructors. Our instructors are also noted experts in their field, and have a tremendous amount of professional experience to bring to the classroom as well.

Q: How large are the classroom classes at the Imaging R & R Princeton Training Center?

A: Our maximum is six students, though typically the classes are three or four students. We offer very small classes with lots of individual attention.

Q: Do you offer a choice of Mac or Windows workstations for students to use during the class?

A: Yes, upon enrollment you'll receive a questionnaire which includes asking your preference for Windows or Mac.

Q: What do I need to bring?

A: Nothing, just arrive by class start time of 10 AM. We provide the workstations and software the students use during the class, courseware, note paper and pen, spring water, coffee, and tea. Students provide their own lunch and there is a cafeteria on the 1st Floor of the Overlook Center, but you are welcome to bring a brown bag lunch as well and there is a break out area with seating and refrigerator and microwave.

Q: Do you provide courseware?

A: Yes, all students receive a textbook and/or courseware in the course subject.

Q: Do you offer discounts?

A: Our current promotion is a 10% discount off the 3rd or more class enrolled in. Click here for more information. We also offer a Design Package and Web Package 3-class discount. See the Course Schedule page for more information.

Q: What are Government discounts?

A: Federal, State, and Local Government customers and employees are entitled to GSA discounts based on our GSA Government contracts, and according to FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations) under Schedule 70, for Training Classes, and MOBIS 874 for Instructor Led Training. As of April 2010, State and Local Government agencies may participate in this Government schedule via Schedule 70. A parial list of participating agencies can be found here. Government credit cards are accepted.

Q: What version of the software do you teach with?

A: We always have on hand the latest version of the software (many training centers don't), but often students have an earlier version and because of the small class size the instructor is able to accommodate students with different versions. Changes to Adobe applications are usually minor and largely cosmetic, so if you are using a recent but earlier version you will be able to apply all, or nearly all, of what you learn to your own version.

Adobe's Creative Suite 5 (CS5) is the latest version. We have CS5 installed on our systems and are ready for students that have purchased CS5. However many companies and individuals have a significant investment in CS4 or earlier, and each class will be structured as needed. Students can work and learn on the version they feel most comfortable with (CS4 or CS5), or Captivate 4 or 5. We can also provide a version specific textbook for students if requested far enough in advance of a class.

Q: Does Imaging R & R give students a certificate on course completion?

A: Yes, all students receive a certificate of achievement upon course completion. Please note, a certificate of achievement is not a professional certification, but it may be required by your employer as proof you attended the course, such as for reimbursement.

Q: Do you sell or give out software?

A: No, we are not an Adobe software reseller.

Q: Does Imaging R & R train students for Adobe certification, ACE or otherwise?

A: Not specifically but we can make suggestions as to how to help prepare for the certification tests beyond the learning accomplished in the classroom. Our classes are designed to get students comfortable with using the software. For certification, we recommend taking a class, using the software extensively, and studying some reference books on the software.

Q: I've never had any training or experience in graphic design. Will I learn how to create Ads or Brochures when I finish the 2-day course on Photoshop or InDesign?

A: The classes are structured to develop an understanding of the components of the software programs, how they work and how they interact. All the important tools and features are thoroughly explained. In that an advertisement is essentially a rectangle with graphics and/or text, yes you'll learn how to create different sized documents and how to use text. But we don't teach graphic design or advertising techniques or how to best lay-out an ad and so forth.

The same would go for brochures in InDesign, you would learn the tools - but it's not a class in brochure design or creation specifically. It's a class to learn how InDesign works so that you can use the tools to create what you want. Graphic designers have had years of training and/or schooling to learn graphic design. Design is not something we teach in our classes.

We teach the software and we are very good at that. In other words we teach students how to use the tools and what the tools are good for, so that you can take that new-found knowledge and work with the software after the class.

Q: At what location are your classes held?

A: We offer Adobe creative suite classes at Imaging R & R Princeton, at the Overlook Center, 2nd Fl., entrance on Canal Pointe Blvd. near the intersection of Route 1 and Alexander Rd. The Overlook Center can also be accessed from Route 1 South, just south of Alexander Rd. (watch for sign on right). We also offer Photoshop classes in Mt. Laurel NJ, and Newtown PA. In Addition companies with workgroups of 3 or more may benefit from on-customer-site training.

Q: What time does class begin, and how long are classes? If I arrive 45 minutes to an hour late is that a problem, or can you adjust the start time?

A: All classes start at 10 AM. Besides lunch, brief breaks are scheduled morning and afternoon. Classes run from 10 AM to 5 PM, unless otherwise noted. Class hours are determined by our lease agreement and so are not adjustable. If you arrive more than a few minutes late you'll miss so much material that you will not understand other material delivered throughout the day, as well as being unfair to the other students. If you are unable to arrive by class start time please check our schedule for a different class date that better meets your schedule.

The Overlook Center has a large parking lot but it can get quite full by 10AM, so we encourage students to arrive at least 10-15 mintutes early to park and get settled.

Q: How do I make payment?

A: Tuition is paid in advance of the class. No enrollments will be accepted the day of the training. Payment can be made by all major credit cards (including Government and Business credit cards), or by check. Students can enroll via credit card from the payment link below the course schedule or by phone. On the web site just click "Don't have a Paypal account" to pay without any sign-in. Call (856) 222-9696 to enroll via credit card by phone.

Payment by check can be sent to our office mail address (103 N. Riding Dr., Moorestown NJ 08057). NOTE: Check payments by personal or company check must be received at least 10 business days in advance of the class. If class start is within 10 days, please call or email to make payment arrangements. Make check payable to "Imaging R & R".

Q: What if I need help after the class? Can I ask questions after the class is over?

A: Our instructors are always willing to help students that email a question after the class for at least up to 30 days after the class is held, and as the instructor's schedule allows.

Q: Can I enroll my son or daughter, who is a minor, to take the class either with me or on their own? Is there a discount for minors?

A: That's fine as long as they already have good computer skills (e.g. proficient in at least one or two other programs, understand how to save files to disk, know what fonts are, how to cut/copy/paste, megabytes and gigabytes etc.), and they are comfortable with learning some advanced art and graphics concepts. However if they have trouble keeping up they might end up in the position of auditing the class, so please consider carefully their skill and maturity level before enrolling them. There is no tuition discount for age, nor course retake policy for minors.

Q: What is Imaging R & R's satisfaction guarantee or retake policy?

Imaging R & R Retake Policy

We strive to do everything possible to ensure a successful, long-term relationship with our clients and we want you to not only enjoy your experience, but refer your friends and associates. Hands-on instructor-led training is an organized, effective way to learn software quickly in a structured environment. Our instructors consistently receive the highest feedback attainable from the vast majority of our students, and most of our instructors give out the email address for post-training questions. In addition students take their courseware and class notes home with them, and it is certainly possible for our clients to self-study this material if they have the discipline, time and facility in which to do so. In the unlikely event we fail to meet your expectations, we will do our best to work with you to resolve customer service issues based on the following retake guidelines.

We do not offer refunds for classes that have been attended. As it states on our course descriptions page, each class is unique, and we do not guarantee that all topics mentioned on our course outlines will be covered in every class. It's our philosophy that to a large degree, participants get maximum value from a class when they are well prepared for the experience, and have access to the software they were instructed on in order to practice post-training. Participants are encouraged to communicate their primary objectives on our pre-class questionnaire. We do not guarantee that all objectives on the questionnaire will be covered, and refunds are not available if a particular objective is not met.

Our policy is to offer students that feel they have not received full benefit from a class 1 retake for up to 3 months (90 calendar days) from completion of a class, for only a $100 adminstrative fee. You should bring the textbook from your original class for use during your retake class. No additional courseware will be provided for retakes and it is the student's responsibility to bring their original courseware, and any accompanying or handout CD or DVD, to the class.

We reserve the right to reschedule you to another date for your retake, if the class retake date you are originally scheduled for becomes full, or a class does not run due to low enrollment or student cancellations. Retakes may only be available at one of our alternate locations (e.g. Mt. Laurel or Newtown).

You may cancel your retake 48 hours or more before the class and re-schedule the class for another date. Cancellations of a retake less than 48 hours before the class start time will cause you to lose the retake privileges for that class and the $100 administrative fee will be refunded. If you request a retake and do not attend one of the class days, your retake privileges for that class are considered used and the the retake fee will be forfeited.

Retakes of the following are not available:
- Classes in newer versions of the software than you were instructed on (for example if you take a class in a CS4 version product, no retakes will be available once CS5 classes are being offered);
- Discounted classes
- Tutoring;
- One-on-one classes;
- Private classes;
- One-day classes;
- Consulting;
- For students under 18 yrs. old;
- On-site classes (classes held at a customer location);
- Classes for which the fee is paid to anyone other than Imaging R & R
